The executive shake-up at The Estée Lauder Companies continued with news of Fabrizio Freda's retirement in August. In response to a challenging market environment, beauty retailer Sephora is cutting its workforce in China, streamlining the organizational structure that is said to impact less than 3% of the workforce or fewer than 120 jobs.Fabrizio Freda, who has been at the helm of The Estée Lauder Companies since 2009, informed the Board of Directors of his plans to retire at the end of fiscal year 2025. The news comes after confirmation in July that Tracey T. Travis, Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, will retire in June 2025, succeeded by Akhil Shrivastava.The Estée Lauder Co. has appointed Rashida La Lande as its new Executive Vice President and General Counsel. She succeeds Deirdre Stanley, who stepped down in April to “embark on a new chapter.” Prior to Lauder, La Lande served as General Counsel at The Kraft Heinz Company and was previously a Partner at law firm Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher.MAC Cosmetics appointed Emily Bromfield as Senior Vice President, Global Marketing. Emily will report directly to Aïda Moudachirou-Rébois, SVP, Global General Manager MAC Cosmetics. She has a blend of big beauty and entrepreneurial experience from L’Oréal to Dr. Barbara Sturm and Charlotte Tilbury.Oddity appointed Dr. Ido Bachelet as Chief Science Officer to lead science at Oddity Labs in Boston. He succeeds Dr. Evan Zhao, who departed to pursue other interests. Zhao was the co-founder of biotechnology start-up Revela, which Oddity acquired for $76 million in 2023. Dr.
